The UK’s biggest summer party returned to Wembley Stadium back in June for the first time in three years. Capital FM’s Summertime Ball has built a name for itself as one of the hottest events on the pop calendar with some 80,000 people attending the event.
The effort and professionalism that gets put into creating a safe, efficient, enjoyable working environment deep in the belly of Wembley is nothing short of phenomenal. We always walk away from these events thinking how proud we are to be part of this amazing team.
The team had to wear many hats in multiple areas during the week ensuring all those back-of-house were refreshed and hydrated with chilled refreshments. No small feat when you consider how many people work backstage over the week from Tuesday to Sunday. The sheer volume of chilled equipment required is phenomenal. We also ensured the brand was visible and on point at all times. Not just for everyone to enjoy, but for those all important camera opportunities with the commercial partnership team at Global.
We also built and installed the giant capital letters that are positioned on Olympic Way. These became an instant branding opportunity for Global’s marketing team. The arrangement included a curve within the positioning and a 15 meter long, 3 meter high step-and-repeat backdrop on a mesh banner fastened to a truss structure support.
